A planting scheme over an area of approximately 5000 square metres was designed for HDRA at Ryton Organic Gardens, Warwickshire. The inspiration for this design came from planting schemes found in German public parks. A matrix of plants is created to cover the ground and suppress weeds. Taller perennials emerge through the ground layer and the plants become distributed following a natural rhythm. The clients are collecting data on the maintenance input and it is hoped that the scheme will provide a blueprint for other public parks.
