Allies & Morrison Architects designed the new entrance and gardens to the south and west of Tate Britain, London, as part of the Tate Centenary Project. Schoenaich Rees Landscape Architects were commissioned to design planting areas and advise on horticulture. The gardens are enclosed by new hedges which, when mature, will form strong geometric blocks of yew and beech. Wide bands of seasonal planting are changed twice a year. The spectacular display of ever-changing annual plants received special comment from Sir Nicholas Serota.
